We have recently launched starring on Google Maps, enabling you to easily bookmark your favourite places in a lightweight way if you are signed in. Once starred they will remain on the map for easy access and are also listed in the "My Maps" section:

Curved lines on the transit layer
We've just launched a cool new refinement to London and Paris on the Transit layer on Google Maps. Whereas before, the subways in many cities were drawn using straight lines to connect the stations, we now are using curved lines for a much more organic and realistic feel. See below for a before/after comparison:

New countries added to Google Transit Layer
As part of the ongoing improvements to the Transit Layer on Google Maps, we've recently added cities in China, Japan and Russia. It's pretty cool to see the real paths that the lines take:
